About Adventure Holidays in Iceland

Adventure Holidays are guided packages and tours that are designed to fit as many activities into your vacation as possible. Iceland is renowned for the astonishing number of adventures on offer, such as glacier hiking, snowmobiling, snorkelling and ice caving, and with these options, you'll have no shortage of activities to choose from.

1. Can I visit the Ice Caves on an Adventure Holiday?

Certain Adventure Holidays run in winter and allow you to visit the Ice Caves in Myrdalsjokull Glacier and/or Vatnajokull Glacier.

2. What equipment should I pack for an Adventure Holiday?

As a general rule, you will need warm, water- and windproof clothing and sturdy hiking boots with ankle support for most activities in Iceland. In the "What to Bring" section of each package description, all additional specifications are listed, although the specialised equipment is usually provided for you.

3. Where do I go on Adventure Holidays?

Adventure holidays are a broad category in which you will find options that take you to all of Iceland's regions—from the South to the North and from the West to the East.

4. Can children join Adventure Holidays?

Many of these packages allow children over the age of eight to join. It is unlikely that the children will be able to participate in all the activities, however, abut some individual tours are without age limits. You can always check the minimum age for each tour under the "Quick Facts" sections, below the tour-description texts.

5. Is accommodation included in Adventure Holidays?

Accommodation arrangements depend on the length and nature of the package. Many include accommodation throughout the whole trip, while some only include accommodation outside of Reykjavik. The details of each package are listed in the "Quick Facts" section, under "What's Included."

6. Do Adventure Holidays run in winter?

Adventure Holidays run in both seasons, with seasonal activities for you to enjoy.

9. When is the best time of the year for an Adventure Holiday?

It depends on the range of adventures you want to experience. Those seeking the Ice Caves and the Northern Lights should book a winter package, while those seeking Rafting, Puffin-Watching and the Midnight Sun, for example, should come in summer.

7. Will I still get to sightsee on Adventure Holidays?

Yes, all Adventure Holidays include a mixture of sightseeing and activities.

8. What happens if an activity is cancelled due to weather?

If a weather cancellation occurs, we will do our very best to reschedule. If that is not possible, we will try to arrange an alternative tour. Should that fail as well, you will be refunded the price of the cancelled tour. If you end up partaking in a cheaper tour, you will be refunded the price difference.
