You’ll stop at two of south Iceland's most impressive waterfalls, Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss, the former being one of Iceland's most powerful waterfalls, sought out by locals and travellers alike.   Seljalandsfoss is a picturesque cascade, famed for its walking path which allows you to hike behind it in summer time. Glacier Hike and South Coast Minibus from Reykjavik
12 hours
All year

Jump aboard this sightseeing tour of the South Coast, complete with a glacier hike upon Sólheimajökull. This tour is perfect for those eager to see some of Iceland’s most iconic landmarks without missing out on any adventure. This tour begins when you are picked up from your accommodation in Reykjavík city. The main road along the South Coast is lined with beautiful features. The first you will come to is a waterfall you can walk all the way around, called Seljalandsfoss. The stream that feeds this falls comes from the notorious glacier and volcano Eyjafjallajökull, which erupted in 2010; you can see this peak on clear days. A little further along is another incredible waterfall, the wider and more powerful Skógafoss. If the weather is especially good, you should also be able to see across the ocean to the Westman Islands. Your next stop after these waterfalls will be the glacier tongue of Sólheimajökull. Here, you will be provided with all the equipment you need to scale it, told about safety, and then led onto an exhilarating and fascinating glacier hike. The ice-cap itself looks otherworldly, and the views from it are incredible. There are very few places in the world where ascending a glacier is so accessible; thus you will want a camera in hand to enshrine the memories that you make here. After enjoying your time on the glacier, you will continue along the South Coast to the beautiful stretch of black sand beach called Reynisfjara. This area is renowned for its strange geology, with the enormous Dyrhólaey arch, with its hexagonal basalt columns, and the sea stacks of Reynisdrangar said to be the remains of two trolls petrified by the sun. If coming in the summer months, this area has a wealth of nesting puffins you can admire. Once you have appreciated the beauty of this beach, you will return to the bus and enjoy the scenic drive back to Reykjavík. Do not miss this immersive, small-group tour to the glacier and along the South Coast. Check availability by choosing a date.

Þingvellir is located between the North American and Euro-asian tectonic plates. The edges are clearly visible and marked by deep cracks in the ground on both sides of the valley. The area is also noted for its birch forests, ravines, lava landscapes and crystal-clear water from under-ground rivers. Jump aboard this incredible bus tour to marvel over the beautiful South Coast of Iceland, while receiving commentary in your native language. This unique, personal and modern bus tour is sure to inform, entertain, and stay with you for life. When leaving Reykjavík nice and early, the first thing you will notice is the features on the bus. Each guest has a tablet with free-wifi, USB plug-ins, and, most importantly, a ‘Smart In-Bus Audio Guide’. This will allow you to listen to commentary about your surroundings in English, Spanish, Mandarin, German, Dutch, Finnish, French, Italian, Japanese and Korean. Of course, your audio guide cannot answer questions, so you will also have a host on board who can help with any additional queries that you have. Therefore, by the end of the tour, you will know everything you want to about each of the many features that you will pass. The South Coast tour takes you through a wealth of incredible landscapes. The first you will come across after leaving Reykjavík is the Hengill area, best known for its volcanic peaks, otherworldly lava fields, and hot springs. On clear days, you can see Hekla volcano, and sometimes even Eyjafjallajökull, the notorious glacial volcano that erupted in 2010. As you travel from here, just a few kilometres off the coastline, you may also be able to see the Vestmannaeyjar Islands, also called the Westman Islands, rising dramatically from the surface of the ocean. Sólheimajökull glacier is the first stop on the way; you will be able to walk right up to the edge of the glacier and marvel over its striations of black ash and vivid blue ice. Its diverse colouration and the contrast of the snow against the surrounding black lava make this a very popular site for photographers. The next stops is at Reynisfjara black sand beach. This is considered one of Iceland’s most beautiful coastal stretches. It’s mighty rock arch, Dyrhólaey, has rare hexagonal black columns, and is home to many puffins during the summer.   Offshore, you will see two magnificent sea stacks rising tall from the ocean surface. These are called Reynisdrangar and are believed to be wading trolls that were petrified to stone in the light of the morning sun. After being amazed by the power of the sea in Reynisfjara Beach we will head on to Vík. The village of Vík is the southernmost village in Iceland, located on the main ring road around the island. Despite its small size (291 inhabitants) it is the largest settlement for 70 km. Your final stops will be at two waterfalls, each as unique and as they are beautiful. You’ll have a chance to stroll through the verdant fields at Seljalandsfoss waterfall, and even take a path behind the plunging water. At Skógarfoss, you can walk right up to where the water is crashing down, and take a flight of stairs to the very top. The views from up here are magnificent. The South Coast is absolutely magnificent, and to hear all about it in your native tongue is not an opportunity many are lucky enough to get. Don’t miss your chance to experience it. At the end of the day you will rest in full comfort with an ensuite bathroom and of course, breakfast is included at all accommodations. The Ring Road will get you to the most famous of all Iceland’s attractions, but most visitors seek to escape the crowds on their travels as well. There are many secret locations which will allow you to break free of that tourist feeling and get back to nature. You will receive a special itinerary after you book, full of hidden gems and old favourites so that your holiday will be second to none.   You can also add some extra activities to your tour during the booking process at a discounted price. There are options such as snowmobiling, glacier hiking, visiting the Blue Lagoon, and a boat tour around Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon you can add onto your trip. The summer days in Iceland are long, so make the most of them by starting early and finishing late—you won't ever need to reach a destination 'before it gets dark' since during the season of the midnight sun it doesn't get dark; between the months of May and August.  Pack in as much stunning scenery as you can with this 7-day self-drive tour! Beautiful South Coast Bus Tour
10 hours
All year

Join this awe-inspiring sightseeing tour along the beautiful south coast of Iceland. With waterfalls, volcanoes, glaciers and black sand beaches, you will have the opportunity to see a wealth of diverse scenery in just one day. You will be picked up from your Reykjavík hotel, or a pre-arranged meeting point, from 8 am. Once your whole group is gathered, you will start to make your way east. The drive is very scenic, and your guide will note any points of interest that you will pass. One such feature will be the glacier Eyjafjallajökull, which gained notoriety in 2010 when the volcano beneath it erupted and severely hampered air travel across Europe. The first stop, however, will be at Seljalandsfoss waterfall. This is a beautiful feature in the landscape, and unique in the sense that it is possible to walk all the way around it due to the concave shape of the cliff it tumbles from. Once you have enjoyed the area, and taken your photos from behind the cascading water, it is back on the road to the next falls. At 60 metres (197 ft) tall and up to 25 metres (82 ft) wide, the Skógafoss waterfall is awe-inspiringly powerful, and the spray rising from its base throws off many rainbows when the sun is shining. It is possible to ascend a staircase beside the falls for a unique perspective and a good look at the birds who nest in the surrounding cliffs. Following Skógafoss, you will stop at Sólheimajökull glacier where your guide will walk you right up to its edge, allowing you to look at an ancient world of blue and white ice, veined with the black ash of eruptions dating back centuries. After drinking in the beauty of this magnificent place, it is back on the road to the fascinating cape Dyrhólaey. The dramatic basalt cliffs here stretch out into the ocean and feature an enormous sea arch. Puffins and other seabirds nest all around the area during summer. From Dyrhólaey, looking east, it is possible to see the Reynisdrangar sea stacks, promontories that rise 66 metres (217 ft) from the ocean. Legend has it that these are two petrified trolls, who were caught in the sun when trying to pull a ship ashore. You will get a better view of Reynisdranger at the final stop of the day, Reynisfjara beach. This stretch of coast is considered to be one of the most beautiful in Iceland, with its black sands, fascinating geology, and dramatic waves. Once you have fully enjoyed this magnificent shore, it is time to head back to Reykjavík, with a camera full of photos and a head full of memories. There is so much you can see on the South Coast in just one day. Don't let this experience pass you by. Come aboard for a sightseeing experience to remember; check availability by choosing a date.

Join this small-group day tour to explore the hidden ice caves of Mýrdalsjökull glacier. On this tour, you will go off the beaten track on a modified 4x4 minibus to step into these majestic tunnels of blue, white and black ice. Your guide will pick you up from your preselected pickup location in Reykjavík in a modified 4x4 minibus which is specially built to handle the rough Icelandic terrain near the glacier. Before you arrive at the ice caves, you will travel through the black sands of Mýrdalssandur, a result of the many explosive eruptions of Katla volcano, the last one happened in 1918. The black sands create a stark contrast with the mossy green mountains of the region. When you reach your destination, you will face a massive wall of ice. Some have described this encounter like going to Game of Thrones’ Wall of the North. Before you go exploring the ice caves, your guide will teach you how to use the glacier gear and give you a safety orientation. Then it's time to go into the glacier. You will get plenty of time to marvel at the unique colours, deep-blue ice mixed with pitch-black volcanic ash.
