Reserve your spot on this tour and witness steamy and colourful geothermal areas, moss-covered lava fields, magnificent caves, soaring cliffs, and the beautiful Blue Lagoon, all on Reykjanes peninsula, one of the most spectacular regions of Iceland.

This tour is perfect for geology and nature lovers, but it also showcases the unique features of Reykjanes, qualities that have attracted movie directors from all over the world in the past few years.

You will be picked up from your accommodation in Reykjavik in the morning, after which you will head south-west to your first stop, Seltún. This geothermal area enchants with the many vivid colours that the minerals give to the rocks, and with mud pools and water springs that can reach temperatures of 80-90 degrees Celsius.

Next, you will be heading to Gunnuhver, another beautiful hot spring area close to the fascinating Reykjanesviti, the oldest lighthouse in Iceland. Gunnuhver gets its name after Gunna, a female ghost that used to haunt a nearby village over 400 years ago.

She was a constant nuisance to the inhabitants until one day a priest set a trap for her, causing her to fall into the spring. The contrast between the ocean and the black lava close to the lighthouse creates a magical landscape, perfect for great photos.

Next stop will be Lake Kleifarvatn (the largest lake on the peninsula), where an episode of "Black Mirror" was filmed. You will then have the chance to take a short hike to the top of the Krýsuvíkurbjarg cliffs (the highest bird cliff on the peninsula, composed of dark basalt rocks).

Other highlights of the tour are Selatangar, which was a big fishing settlement in the late 19th century, and Grindavík, where you can try some local food and ice cream.

When the sightseeing is over with, we will stop at the world famous Blue Lagoon. There will be plenty of time to take pictures or enjoy refreshments in the cafe. You can also take a bath in the lagoon and try the nourishing silica mask. (Entrance tickets are not included in the price of the tour and must be purchased in advance.)

There will be many coffee and toilet breaks during this private tour so that you can enjoy Iceland in comfort. If you are taking this tour in the wintertime, you might catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights on your way back into town.

Discover some of southwest Iceland's most celebrated treasures on this fascinating tour. Check availability by choosing a date.
