Good to know:

The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon, and therefore cannot be guaranteed, but this itinerary is designed to maximise your chances to see them if weather allows. Please be aware that your itinerary may have to be rearranged to fit your arrival date and time better.

It can happen, in the case of extreme weather, that an activity is cancelled. If your chosen activity is cancelled, we will assist you with rearranging or booking other activities when possible, and any potential price difference will be refunded to you.

Note that Icelandic roads and pavements can be slippery in the wintertime. We recommend you bring shoes with slip-resistant soles or ice-grip shoe covers. The covers can be purchased in most supermarkets and gas stations around the country.

If you book the extra activities alongside this tour, you will get them at a lower price.

Daily itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival

Release all stress and let the Blue Lagoon's warm water soothe your tired muscles and joints.

Take the shuttle bus from the Keflavik International Airport to your hotel in downtown Reykjavik. You'll stay at a cozy hotel in the city center so that you can easily explore the northernmost capital of the world.

On the way to the city, you can make a stop at the Blue Lagoon, for a sensory experience unique to Iceland. Release all your tension, letting the azure water soothe tired muscles and joints. Now, you'll be fully prepared to enjoy your holiday. If your flight arrives late in the day, you will visit the Blue Lagoon on your departure day instead.

If you like, take a complimentary Northern Lights tour in the evening. You may choose what kind of Northern Lights experience you prefer: By boat or by bus. Go for the boat tour in the Old Harbor, to see the dancing lights over the ocean while the wind plays with your hair, or choose a bus tour to head out into the countryside under cover of darkness and watch for glimmers of color against a backdrop of the Icelandic wilderness.

You'll spend the night in Reykjavik.

Also, the area is filled with bubbling mud pots, steamy fumaroles, and vents in the very crust of the earth which give Iceland its distinctive primeval landscape.

If you would like to stay near the city, take a whale watching tour from the Old Harbour. Zip across the waves in a RIB boat as you watch for tailfins in the water, or look for dolphins playing from the comfortable viewing deck of a larger ship.

If you would prefer to leave the city area, take a sightseeing tour of the rolling farmland, fast-moving waterfalls, and craggy lava fields that characterize the south coast. If you would like a more active day, take a glacier hike on the ice of Sólheimajökull. The choice is yours!

Your last day in Iceland! We're sad to see you leave!

For a hassle-free farewell, you will be picked up at your hotel to ensure that you get to the airport safely before your flight. If you have an afternoon departure, you can use the morning to visit the breakfast eateries, gourmet coffee shops, museums and shops the city has to offer.

If you are taking a later flight, you may be able to fit in a visit to the Blue Lagoon, if you did not go there on Day 1. Alternatively, you could take a short jaunt in the countryside on the back of an Icelandic horse, or see the whales on a last-minute boat trip.

Though your time in Iceland has finished, we hope you will return soon. As we say in Icelandic, "Sjáumst seinna!" ("See you later!")
