The Snæfellsnes Peninsula is famed for its diverse natural attractions and wealth of wildlife.

Hop aboard a minibus and let an experienced guide take you around the magical Snæfellsnes Peninsula. You will discover the peninsula's diverse wonders, from impressive mountains and glaciers to modest waterfalls, black pebble beaches and fascinating fauna. Snæfellsnes Peninsula will show you the best Iceland has to offer in a nutshell.

You'll be picked up in the morning and driven through the farmlands of western Iceland to the great Snæfellsnes Peninsula.

Just a short drive from the town of Grundarfjörður stands Kirkjufell, 'The Church Mountain', a pyramid-shaped mountain you may recognise from the popular HBO television series Game of Thrones. If you are a keen watcher, then you may remember seeing it in season seven.

You'll circle the glacier Snæfellsjökull on your journey to the next destination, the beautiful Djúpalónssandur beach. There, you can see the remains of a ship that wrecked in the waters 60 years ago. The pieces have washed up on shore where they now lie among the beach's black pebbles.

If you are looking to test your strength, then this is your playground as Djúpalónssandur is famous for its four 'lifting stones'. Years ago fishermen would use these stones to measure their power and see if they'd qualified for work on fishing boats. Keep your eyes peeled when walking around the beach; you may be in luck and see some curious seals!

You will also visit the fishing hamlet of Arnarstapi. Its small harbour is home to some big rock structures; massive basalt rock formations have been sculpted by the Atlantic Ocean into caves, columns & coves, which serve as homes to a variety of Icelandic wildlife species.

After a long and exciting day, you'll be transported back to Reykjavík with a camera full of otherworldly photos and a head full of memories.
