Golden Circle small group & Snowmobiling Tour

This is a very special tour! In space one day you will get to see a couple of amazing geological wonders in Iceland at Geysir and Þingvellir where Iceland's first Parliament, the Alþingi, was established in 930 CE. You will complete the Golden Circle with a visit to the majestic Gullfoss waterfall, and as if that was not enough, the glittering crowning glory of this fun tour is an adrenaline-fueled snowmobile tour on Langjökull, the second largest glacier in Iceland up in the Icelandic Highlands above Gullfoss.

Your first stop will be at Þingvellir National Park where you will see one of the earth's great wonders, the rift valley between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. Walk between two continents and appreciate the unique political and social history of this amazing place. Stand on the dramatic natural stage, with the cliff of the rift valley at your back, in the footsteps of the Law Speaker when he delivered historic speeches and verdicts in the olden days. Today a flag marks the spot.

Next, we visit the Geysir area at Haukadalur. Great Geysir, the spouting hot spring which gave its name to this phenomenon, now erupts very rarely. Nearby Strokkur, can be relied upon to spout grey fountains of boiling water and jets of steam every few minutes. These scalding expulsions often reach a height of 70 meters, there are many other smaller hot springs to see here. But time to go lots to see!

Gullfoss beckons us! Feel the spray on your face and stand in silent wonder as the almost unimaginably powerful falls race through the rugged high canyon dropping in two stages of 11 and 21 meters. Such is the power of the mighty Hvítá (The White River) which flows through Gullfoss. Where is the source of so much water? Langjökull glacier, where we will be heading for in a moment.

Time for the glittering crown! We will take the mountain road up onto Langjökull for the snowmobile trip of a lifetime. At our Snowmobile Base Camp we give you your snowmobiling clothes, some safety information and a few snowmobile operating instructions and you are ready to ride. Skimming off to explore the great white kingdom of Langjökull – this really is the experience of a lifetime – take away priceless memories!
